Why Professional Piano Tuning Is Important
Regular piano tuning is essential for preserving the sound quality and overall tonal stability of your piano. Each string must be tuned to the exact tension to produce the exact pitch, but over time this tension naturally drifts.
In San Antonio's climate, this happens faster than most people realize. Changes to the weather and moisture can cause the wood to expand and shrink, ultimately causing the string’s tension to change. That’s why most piano manufacturers recommend tuning your piano at least twice a year, to accommodate the seasonal shifts between heating and air conditioning.
Frequent playing can also push a piano out of tune more quickly, particularly for students practicing daily or musicians performing regularly. Not only does tuning your piano help keep its pitch, regular tuning also allows us to inspect other piano components, detecting minor issues early and avoiding major repairs. A well-maintained piano not only sounds better but holds its value over time.
How Piano Tuning Works
Each piano tuning is performed by using specialized tools and equipment to bring each of your piano's 200 strings to the standard A440 concert-level pitch. A standard tuning usually takes around an hour, though older or neglected pianos may need a pitch raise and additional time depending on the condition in order for the tuning to hold. While we tune your piano, it gives us a chance to inspect the overall condition of your piano, which is often how we catch small issues before they become costly repairs.

Piano Tuning Services
We tune all types of pianos for all kinds of customers across San Antonio. Find your situation below or give us a call and we'll point you in the right direction.
Pitch Raise & Neglected Piano Tuning
If your piano hasn't been tuned in several years, a standard tuning alone may not be enough to bring it back to proper pitch. We'll assess the condition first and determine the best approach before we start.

Grand & Baby Grand Piano Tuning
Grand and baby grand pianos are much more different than Upright Pianos. We work with all makes and sizes, from small baby grands to full studio instruments.

Upright Piano Tuning
Uprights are the most common piano found in San Antonio homes, schools, and studios. Whether yours is a spinet, console, or full upright, we'll get it sounding its best.

Piano Tuning After Moving
Moving is one of the most common reasons a piano needs attention. Changes in humidity and temperature during transport can throw even a well-maintained piano significantly out of tune.

Piano Tuning for Churches
Church pianos see heavy use and often go longer between tunings than they should. We work with churches and houses of worship across San Antonio to keep their instruments ready for every service.

Piano Tuning for Private Teachers
Private teachers need a tuner they can count on. We work around your lesson schedule and keep your piano consistently in top playing condition.
