This George Steck grand piano is approximately 6 feet in length and was built around 1902 in New York City (Serial Number 13740). This piano is one of the oldest and largest pianos we currently have, and the sound and touch of this instrument truly show. The bass is rich and powerful, the treble is very clear and bright, and the action plays smooth and is very responsive.
George Steck was a highly respected American piano manufacturer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Founded in 1857 in New York City, Steck was known for building high-quality instruments with solid craftsmanship and rich, musical tone. By the early 1900s, the company was producing some of the finest grand pianos available, often competing with brands like Steinway and Chickering. . The early 1900s were also part of what’s often called the “Golden Age”, pianos from this era were built with great attention to detail and made to last.
