Based on the serial number (53429), it was built sometime in the early 1910s by the Starr Piano Company in Richmond, Indiana. Starr was a big name back then, and they were known to craft some really solid, great-sounding pianos.

What’s especially cool about this piano is how it blends that unique vintage American craftsmanship with a really warm, rich tone. The bass is surprisingly deep for a piano this size, and the treble has that clear, bell-like quality that makes it really fun to play. The action has also been fully regulated and it feels smooth and responsive, which isn’t always the case with older instruments.
